THE THREE ROBONIC STOOGES original airdates: 1977-1978 on CBS episodes: 32 shorts animated, distributed and owned by: Hanna Barbera Productions information supplied by BrutusBryant HISTORY: The Robonic Stooges began as segments on The Skatebirds, which aired from September 1977 to January 1978. When CBS canceled The Skatebirds, due to low ratings, the trio got their own half-hour timeslot. The Three Robonic Stooges continued where The Skatebirds left off. The 16-episode series consisted of two segments of The Stooges and one of Woofer and Wimper, Dog Detectives (an edited version of Clue Club). Norman Maurer, who created The Robonic Stooges, also wrote and edited the scripts and contributed to the characters' design.
